HOW IT STARTED

Lagway Journey

5-Star quarterback DJ Lagway entered college as one of the most decorated high school athletes in history. A standout from Willis, Texas, Lagway collected over 20 “Player of the Year” and first-team honors, including the prestigious Gatorade National Player of the Year, MaxPreps National Player of the Year, Mr. Texas Football, and USA Today Offensive Player of the Year. In his senior season, he threw for more than 4,600 yards, 74 total touchdowns, and completed over 72% of his passes, earning recognition as the #1 quarterback and #3 overall player in the nation for the class of 2024 by 247Sports. His high school career also saw him become an Elite 11 Finalist, an All-Time 6A Passing Touchdown Record Holder, and recipient of the Bobby Dodd National Player of the Year Award. As he transitions to Baylor University, he is ready to continue growing, competing at the highest level, and building his next chapter.

Next Chapter

Now at Baylor University, Lagway is entering the next chapter of his collegiate career. He wasted no time making his presence felt at Florida, throwing for 1,915 yards and 12 touchdowns in his freshman season while leading the Gators to a Gasparilla Bowl victory, where he earned MVP honors. In 2025, Lagway was prominently featured on the Deluxe Edition cover of EA Sports College Football 26 alongside Tim Tebow, becoming one of the faces of the game. Rated a 90 overall with a 98 throw-power rating — the highest in college football — he is also highlighted in promotional materials as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. His growing profile has landed him marquee partnerships with EA Sports, Gatorade, Leaf Trading Cards, and T-Mobile, further cementing his status as one of the most marketable athletes in the country. At Baylor, Lagway is focused on growth, leadership, and making an impact on and off the field in this next chapter of his football journey.
